Influences of Media on our Film Production

This music video by Taylor Swift is an influence to our film production. The video is about love within highschool particularly when you are 'Fifteen'. The images in the video focuses on one sole character, Taylor Swift, as she journeys between her life at school. Taylor Swift is similar to Lisa in our film production because she is starting her first day of school.The first line sings 'take a deep breath its the morning of your very first day'. Taylor Swift's music are the pop rock/country music genre. This genre of music relates to the Rom-Com/Teen drama genre of our film as they go hand in hand as they are both 'happy' genres. Highschool is a place of love and discovery.

A Cinderella Story

This movie was released in 2004. Its genre is the Teen movie/Rom-com genre exactly like our film. This movie influenced us because we enjoyed the plot of the film and we used ideas from the film to incorporate into our filming. It related to our film because it had an unlucky central female character, like Lisa, but who eventually got the boy she liked despite her cruel step sisters. This also influenced us because it was a modern day version of a Cinderella story so we wanted to make a modern day version of a love story. Particulalry, we liked the fact that the film included cool comedy so we thought we should add some comedy into our film as it is a popular aspect of Teen movie/Rom-com films. This is the trailer for the film as you can see it includes comedy. Also Hilary Duff's 'lover' is described as 'Prince Charming' this influenced us so we described Owen as 'Perfect'.



Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging

This movie was released in 2008. It influenced us a lot because it was a British film so we tried to incorporate British 'slang' and schooling into the film. We watched parts of the film and made sure to use some common British slang into our film such as the popular word 'fit' to describe someone who they find attractive.

When watching A cinderella Story and Angus, thongs, and perfect snogging we noticed that the boy character that all the girls liked were shot from either medium shots or medium long shots with high key lighting this is why we made sure that one of the shots that showed 'Owen' was shot in this way and we edited to make him appear in very high key lighting.
